We ceased placing in rented accommodation in 2004 due to the fact that half the cats we admit each year are from relocating tenants who cannot find new landlords who will accept their cats (a cat may live 18 - 20 years and the owner will move many times during that period)
Cat flaps can be fitted in uPVC doors and double glazing. The latest cat flaps such as Sure Flap or Pet Porte read your cat's identichip number and will not admit any other cat
Looking after a cat properly is expensive, if you are not prepared to pay for necessary vet care eg vaccinations don't even consider obtaining a pet
